New Beginnings

I love this time of year! Our final Family Fun Night is over, and another season of Kindermusik is in the books. It is always sad for me to say goodbye to my students, knowing that most of them I won't see again until September--almost 4 months. Hardly a day goes by during the summer when I don't think about my dear students, remembering something fun (or funny!) we did together in class and wondering how much they will grow over the summer. So why do I love this time of year? Well, sure, endings are hard, but isn't it exciting that they are always accompanied by a new beginning?!

The proverbial slate has been wiped clean, and so each day brings the promise of better things to come. With my summer schedule a bit lighter, I can now take all of the ideas that came to me throughout the past year and begin to make them real. Things that need improvement are molded, changed, reinvented. Things that worked well are examined for ways to perform even better. Opportunity knocks at the front door every day, and I am ready to buy whatever she's selling!

How appropriate to begin our new blog now--at the end of one season and the beginning of another. This blog grants me opportunity in so many ways: the opportunity to communicate directly with you all, to keep you in touch with our program, to express myself and answer questions that have been asked by many Kindermusik parents over the years, to let you get to know me just a little bit better and hopefully, with your posted replies, a chance to let me get to know you just a little bit better, too!

Come embrace the sun this summer, and my son, Ronan, reminds us to also stop and smell the flowers!
